![]() This was posted by Rix on the POG Forum. He talks about the Typhoon pump kit and how it goes on the gun. I found it kind of interesting. If you would like one, either call Palmer's or email them. 1. My Pump Kit was $65. This is indicative of market changes, I remember when they first came out, the price was higher, for which you got the pump handle w/rod and new bolt as well. 2. I removed the Foregrip and the Bolt, put on a "pump" foregrip with a pump rod attached to it and attach that to the bolt. I then turned off the regulator. Gas up the gun and VIOLA! a typhoon pump with all my "tricked" components. On mine, I just removed the foregrip, turned the rock knob counterclockwise, sliped on pump grip and attached the rod to the bolt (my bolt was basically a semi bolt with the hole for the rod drilled in it). Final step was to adjust my trigger stop set screw (self installed) to limit trigger travel to just a tad beyond the point of hammer release when pulled. This also prevented the 4-way from being activated. 3. When I spoke with Craig, He acted like My 'phoon would take a little work to get it going with the Pump kit, the kits MAY be specific to each marker. If anything, this may just be the channeling of the pump grip itself to provide the necessary clearance of the airline connector for the rock reg and possibly the front of the ram housing, to ensure the bolt is fully retracted and clears the feed tube and cocks the hammer back. Not much other than that AFAIK or see. As I stated, my kit came with the extra bolt, which I just leave in the 'Phoon for both semi and pump play, the original in my spares box. Also, the newer bolt appears to have a somewhat larger inlet port, improving/increasing the flow rate I would imagine. Once you get a chance to use it, I am pretty sure you will be satisfied with your decision to purchase it.... Posted by Rix on September 20, 1998 at 3:16:23 (Slightly modified from the origanal post) Since the introduction of the pump kit, the price has ranged from $100 when first intro'ed to $75....plus shipping of course. These are direct quotes from people who have them as well as from PPS over time. As you can see, prices will vary, depending upon availabiltiy of parts, etc... PPS can give you CURRENT price if you call. The kits have evolved as well over time, primarily in the bolt area... Jeb's came without the retaining pin for the ram, he had to switch bolts as well when he converted, mine from a later production had the same bolt as a semi, just drilled for the pump arm placment...it also had a larger inlet port (better flow) than my original bolt. I just leave it in all the time. IT'S OFFICIAL! A pump kit will work with a BBT Typhoon! I bought Jeb Hoge's old kit and it fit on my BBT Typhoon with no problems. Until then, Rix from the Palmer Owner Group has pictures of his pump kit in the Gallery at the POG site.
