Sheridan Recognition Guide

This is a "new" guide to replace the "old" guide that was at the PGPOG. While the "old" guide covered most Sheridan guns there were a few holes and it only included pump guns. This guide covers all Sheridan guns to the best of my knowledge and includes some additional information as well.

Many thanks to Painthappy, B, Bored383, and Drum for some of the below pics.

Picture Model Name Barrel Length Feed Type Power Source Bolt Type Notes
P/PA Series
side tube PG 6.5" 10 rd tube 12 gram Bolt Action, rimfire, non quick strip (Rotate and pull bolt to cock) Alternate picture.
Top Tube PG or 'Pumpless PGP' 6.5" 10 rd tube 12 gram Bolt Action, rimfire, non quick strip (Rotate and pull bolt to cock) Transition gun between the side tube PG and the PGP. Had the top mounted magazine tube, but still had the twist and cock bolt action system of the side tube PG.
PGP 6.5" 10 rd tube 12 gram Rimfire, non quick strip There were 3 primary versions of the PGP. The very early knurled aluminum pump version, machined aluminum pump version, and the later plastic pump version (pictured at left). Even within these primary versions there are minor varients amoung them. This was likely Sheridan's most produced pump gun.
Model PMI Paintgun aka PMI Pursuit Pistol 10.5" 10 rd tube 12 gram or
back bottle CA
Rimfire, non-quick strip This is was a transition gun between the PGP and PMI-1. Usually mistaken as a PMI-1, the main difference is the PGP length rimfire bolt. Comparision. There were both CA and 12 gram models.
PMI-I 10.25" 10 rd tube 12 gram Centerfire, non-quick strip
PMI-II 10.25" 10 rd tube back bottle CA Centerfire, non-quick strip

P68-SC (stock class) 14.25" 15 rd tube 12 gram Speed Demon
P68-AT (auto trigger) 13" Direct feed back bottle CA Speed Demon
PGP aka PGP2 or PGP 2k1 8"? 10 round 12 gram   New model released 3-1-01, replacement for the 'old' PGP.
K Series Rifles
Sorry, no picture. K-1 12" single shot dual 12 gram Bolt-action There has been a lot of discussion over the years whether this actually existed or not. It probably didn't but I'm still going to keep this listed here. Supposedly has a brass air release knob in front of trigger guard for dual cartridge setup.
K-2 12" 15 rd tube single 12 gram Bolt-action Top view
KP-2 12" 15 rd tube 12 gram Centerfire, non-quick strip Additional pictures: 1, 2
KP-2 DF 12" Direct feed 12 gram Centerfire, non-quick strip Generally, you can differentiate a KP2 and KP3 apart by the lower tube. A KP2 has a long lower tube and a KP3 has a short lower tube. There were a few late model KP2-DFs that have a short lower tube.
KP-3 aka Piranha Rifle 12" Direct feed underslung CA Speed Demon As the result of a lawsuit, late model KP3s have a different safety and trigger setup which can somewhat be seen here. This was also used on their pellet rifles.
