WARNING: This mod is not guaranteed to work, and in most cases won't! It adds a lot of additional stress to internals and could mess things up! Do not perform this mod if you are not well experienced with the inner workings of a VM-68! If you screw something up with your VM, don't come crying to me! You have been warned!! This info is provided for entertainment proposes only. I am in no way responsible for anything that happens to you or your 'gun as a result of doing this mod. This is a quickie mod that I stumbled upon a few years ago. While I was doing a trigger job to a friends VM, I found a way to make the 'gun fire in full auto without filing down the secondary sear. No permanent modifications are required to do this mod. Before doing this mod, it is important that you realize it is not guaranteed to work, and in fact, most likely won't. You'll probably end up chopping more balls than anything else. The only thing you need is a small piece of scrap sheet metal that is 1/2" x 2". Take the piece and drill two elongated 1/4" holes in it the same distance apart as the holes in the grip lug (approx. 3/4"). The holes must be big enough to allow some back and forth adjustments. The piece will go between the grip lug and trigger housing as in the picture (left side):
![]() BTW, this trigger job yields great results =D When you put the piece on, don't completely tighten the grip lug screws. You will need to do some adjusting first. Disconnect any air sources! Start by cocking the 'gun. Slowly start to pull the trigger while holding onto the cocking knob. At a certain point the primary sear will drop and release the hammer. Keep the trigger in that exact spot then pull the hammer back again. If the hammer catches again, move the piece forward a hair and pull the trigger again. If after pulling the trigger the hammer doesn't catch when cocked again, you've found the sweet spot. Tighten the grip lug screws down at that spot. From now on when you pull the trigger your VM will fire in full auto for as long as you have the trigger pulled. The major problem with this and almost every other full auto mod is that you will chop balls. Lots of balls. You will need to slow the internals down so that there is more time for balls to drop into 'gun. If you can find/make one, a vertical feed block and a VL Revolution will help a little, but that's still not enough. A couple things you can do (in no particular order):
Don't expect this to work reliably! I've never seen a successful quickie full auto VM mod. In fact, the only full auto VM I can think of is the Brute Gun.
